Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG, Gene ID: 6462) binds the three sex hormones estrogen, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and testosterone. Reduction in the level of SHBG can result in an increased level of free (unbound, and therefore active) sex hormones.
